First test sessions and practice bring mixed results

MAD Motorsports teams hit speedways to begin testing for tracks and setups in the dirt Pro late model, NASCAR xFinity series Toyota Camry and late model series Monte Carlo today. Testing for the dirt late models hit a brick wall when the initial setup, which showed promising speeds at earlier sessions, fail tech inspection. The team had to re-purpose an existing setup which proved to be much slower than competition. The team will continue to work on improving the engine for future races. On a positive note, MAD took 5th place last week in the same program at Eldora, after starting in the back of the pack.

Meanwhile at Talledega, the team performed well in the first superspeedway test. The only Toyota in the field, the car showed no signed of overheating in the large pack of cars, but ended the session early after making contact with another car in a three wide situation. Finally, the pavement late model, the most experienced of the programs run by MAD, was slower than other competition but fielded a stable setup. "We only have a baseline engine for the car, but it's a start" team runners said. Testing will continue throughout the week as it is unclear when and where the next race the team will participate in.
