Rough Day in Mid-Ohio

It was a rough day for the Mad Motorsports IMSA Sportscar Series Audi at Mid-Ohio Raceway yesterday. The car would start in the back of the field and not progress much further throughout the race.

"We were running on short practice and a quick, thrown together setup" the team's crew said after the race, after a long trip from Daytona. Much of the event was spent keeping pace with the track itself. Mid-Ohio features quick, winding turns and only two substantial straights. "This was a learning experience" the team driver said. "I'm still learning road racing, coming from ovals. So today was exhausting..it's a lot of work to keep the car on track and at some kind of speed. We just didn't have it today." Despite the team being hard on itself for a poor showing, 4 laps off the leader at finish, the MM Audi only had one incident during the 45 minute feature. "I was fresh off pit road with a partially full tank. I hit the sharp corner coming out of the straight too high and fast and just lost it. Thankfully we just ran off track and got it back on without contacting anything." The team would pull a 12th place finish after starting only one position worse. Team managers told us they don't know if they will put the car back on the track this week to try another run. The Memorial day weekend it busy with racing opportunity for the team. If not, the team looks to Road America for the final week of the first quarter. MM needs only one more completion to lock in the Class A road license. Opening up the Formula 1 series.

"We are looking into the price of the Mcclaren and cost of running the tracks in that series. We may chose to refine our skills in the lower tier and maybe even the Pro Mazda cars for limited runs. Open wheel is another ballgame entirely" says the team.
