P17 in Spa 24 Hours

The Endurance Team came back together less than a month after debuting at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, and showed some improvement at the 24 Hours of Spa on July 11-12. The team included the original five from Le Mans: Rob Gregoire, Bradley Beamon, Tyler Beamon, Jimmy Thomas, Mike Martino, and with Mike Taylor joining the team as the 6th driver. The team rose in the order up to P6 for the entire first twelve hours of the race, with a near spotless BMW GT3 until a dramatic high speed side impact by the P11 car on the fast Kimmel Straight seemed to change the fortune of the team, who had a rough overnight drive thereafter. The team had a series of small accidents that required repairs, and the car dropped towards P20 in the last quarter of the race, ultimately rising up to P17 for what was, compared to Le Mans, a personal improvement, however a disappointed result for a team that was capable of a top five. Nevertheless, the team drivers again showed dedication and begin a streak of finishing all 24 hours of endurance racing twice now. The Endurance Team is far from over in 2020, though we will next see the group for 24 hours most likely in January 2021 at Daytona.
